Fr Desmond Mooney

I was born on December 13th 1965 in Newry Co. Down and had my Primry and Secondary education in the Abbey Christian Brothers School in Newry.
After secondary school, I studied at the Southbank Polytechnic in Central London and then worked for a number of years in the family business in Newry.

I then went to St Patricks College Maynooth on September 1st 1991, took a BA Degree in Sociology & Classics followed by a Bachelor of Divinity degree, more recently I completed A master of Thoelogy Degree in Maynooth.

I was ordained on Sunday June 21st 1991 in Newry Cathedral by the late Bishop Francis Gerard Brooks.

After Ordination, I was appointed to St Peters Parish, Lurgan for 1 year,onto become a Curate in St Pauls Parish , Lurgan for 9 years and am currently Curate in Moyraverty Parish Craigavon.
